Actor's Workshop
Acting is for Everyone:
More than the perfect form, more than the
perfect pitch or stroke, it is commitment to
a story or idea that moves people. For both
the artist and audience, that is what elevates
the experience to something beyond the
mundane and expected.
The ACTORS’ WORKSHOP™ and the Pilates Stance Studio™ are offering programs which address the needs and challenges of Artists in a variety of ways, but with the singular philosophy of process over result, allowing the focus to remain consistently on that which is most important.
The Actor’s Workshop is in its fifth year, and represents the first joint YJCC and JCC theater program. Based upon the conservatory model, and taught by professional theater artists with experience in theater, musical theater, dance, film, television and commercials, we provide basic classes in acting, movement and dance, voice and singing. Students will work on scenes, monologues, songs and routines over four weeks. This work will culminate in a showcase at the end of the session.
